Stormy Friday

We had a pretty bad storm blow through last night. Ended up with us sitting in the hallway for awhile, away from all the windows.  Fortunately it passed by and we are all ok here. And today; it is storming all over again. All though so far just a normal thunderstorm. Nothing severe yet. Hoping with all this stormy weather we don't lose anymore trees. Was  really sad when the apple tree came down awhile ago. But we are glad to see that it is attempting to come back.

So with all the rain coming down outside...... I am working on this. A cute little baby dress. Sorry about the picture, but it is rather dark outside. It seems to be a really easy dress to make. I found the pattern on Ravelry. You can find the pattern here . This one is coming out bigger than I had hoped. So I think I will be making another one after this one is done. But I will be using a baby yarn instead. The pattern called for WW, aran or bulky and H or I hook. So, I think I will use an F or a G hook with the baby yarn. :)

This is a set of flower dishcloths I made a little while ago. They were super fast. :)  The pattern for this was one of those free tear off sheats at Micheals.

Hope everyone is having a great day :)

Rain, rain and more rain!

We have been receiving a lot of rain from TD Fay. Average rain here was 8-12 inches. It was nice to get some rain, but rough at the same time. A lot of people have lost there homes and cars due to all the rain. We were fortunate here to not have any damage. Although my road was a river earlier.
The picture above was from earlier this summer.

I will have some pictures of the baby sweater soon. I only have the last couple of rows to go on the sleeve. :) I also started the baby afghan which is 1/4th of the way done. I am making a regular ripple for the baby blanket.

Day 8 and Ripple Afghan

Today is day 8 of our 90+ heat wave here. Luckily though it is not as hot as it has been. We had a couple of days at 100. We do have a front moving in which will bring us some storms this afternoon. then it should cool down again. Yay!!
I am working on a ripple afghan for a friend. I have made a little bit of progress on it. Hopfully it will be done in about 2 -3 weeks. Depends on how much time I get to spend on it.

Where did that come from?

It was 100 degrees out there. And then bam! A storm blew up. It was here fast and gone fast.
It took down a huge branch of one of our Bradford Pear trees. Luckily as you can see the bird house did survive. Our entire driveway is littered with branches from the trees here. Luckily nothing hit our house.
I had some cloths out on our clothsline. The storm blew up so fast I never had a chance to go get them. Believe it or not, they are still hanging on the line.
The good part about this storm is that it cooled it off out there. It is only in the upper 80's now.

Rainy Afternoon

It has been a cloudy day here all day. The rain finally started just in time to cancel Kyra's Softball game. :(
Hopefully they can reschedule it soon. Her team is doing really well this year. They have only had two losses. They are leading there league. Unfortunatly the season is almost over. I have no idea what we will do once she is done. We are so use to going to games 2-3 days a week and practice 1-2 times a week. She has learned a lot this year with her wonderful coaches. :)

I have been really busy finishing up some projects. I can't believe how quickly someone can get backed up on things. :)
This is my Blue Floral Potholder I just finished.

Here are some pouchs that I am making for Amy of The PeachTree at Etsy. She uses these pouches to put her jewlery in when mailing to customers. :) These little pouches have been fun to make since we do them up in tons of different colors. :)

I am still working on Robins afghan, but I don't have a new picture to post today. I will hopefully have a new picture sometime this weekend. It is over halfway done now. Yay :)

I have made a 2nd organic cotton dishcloth. :) I love working with the organic cotton. It is really soft. I havn't had any problems working with it. And it works up really nice. I will be buying more organic cotton now that I know I like it. :)

More Storm Damge

We had another bad storm blow through last night. It was a scary evening. Thankfully during the worst part of it, we were at church.

This is one of the buildings we have. Can you see how the roofing started to peel back?

This is my bedroom window after some friends from church came over. They covered it with plastic and duct tape. It blew out during the storm.

This is our trampoline. IT normally sits up beside the house. The storm blew it way out back.

And here is one of many of the trees here that were damaged.
